Long-distance buses in Poland

The bus is often the cheapest way to travel — also from abroad. FlixBus has the largest network of domestic and international connections. Besides it, many domestic and regional carriers operate (former PKS companies and private firms).

For people arriving from across the eastern border, the bus is often the most convenient — many lines run directly from Ukraine and other countries to Polish cities, with no airport transfers.

How to buy

Bus tickets

You can buy a FlixBus ticket in the app or on the website, paying by card, BLIK, PayPal, Google/Apple Pay. It pays to buy in advance — prices rise as the bus fills up. At selected sales points and travel agencies you can also pay in cash.

You can compare timetables and prices of many carriers at once in search engines such as e-podróżnik or busradar. A combined rail + FlixBus ticket can also be bought in the Koleo app.

Amenities: FlixBus buses usually have free Wi-Fi, charging sockets and a toilet. Take an identity document — it may be checked on international routes.

Can I pay the driver in cash?
Usually the ticket is bought online in advance. You can pay in cash at some sales points and travel agencies; paying the driver is not always possible.
How do I get there by bus from Ukraine?
Many carriers (including FlixBus and regional companies) offer direct services from Ukrainian cities to Poland. Check the route in a search engine and buy your ticket online in advance.
Luggage — how much can I take?
With most carriers the price includes hand luggage and one piece of hold luggage; extra pieces may be charged. Check the conditions when buying.
